I just wanted to share my christmas tree with you before throwing it out...wich was due days ago really - but i couldn't bear to do it just yet as it hadn't begun losing it's needles yet...
It's just a tiny tree, wich has more to do with my tiny apartment and lack of funds, than my 18th-century fanaticism - in the 18th century - at least in sweden - christmas trees weren't much bigger than this and were placed on the dining table.
The huge, gaudy fabergé-egg bauble i got some years ago, shortly after my mother's death as a small homage, as she loved all things russian.

I love your petite tree. You would never find a tree as small as that here - they want them big so they can make more money! And candles are out of the question in America. They're so safety crazy here it makes you nuts. That is something I love about Mexico - so few rules! Our winter is never too bad. Tonight it is exceptionally cold - in the 20's F - but it will be near the 70's F for the next few days so I suppose I'll be out on my terrace in a tee-shirt and bare feet. It's quite crazy. By the end of February there are flowers blooming sometimes. But summers are brutal, horrible and long. I try to go away then. Tonight I am happy to be sitting around in my pajamas (still!) and I've just poured myself a cognac. Thanks for the site info. My goodness I got lost there! So totally my taste. I think you are getting to know me, T. Have some fun this weekend. I will try to also, although I have a laborious dinner to cook for Sunday. It will be worth it though.
All the best,
Catherine
Oh, Tutta,
Just adorable! I wouldn't throw it out if it were mine. (I've been known to transition into a Valentine's Tree some years, with beaded garland, little reproduction Victorian Valentines and little heart shaped paper doilies with a love message written on each...) We had a sugar dusting of snow day before yesterday and I thought of you! The high today was 16, and we should be getting snow by Sunday; wish I were more tech-y with my camera! I'd post pictures for you! xo Circe
I'm Impressed! A really nice blog. A lot for me to learn here. Are all the beautiful photos your's?
The tree might be tiny, but in it's heart it's over 10 feet tall. What a perfect little Christmas tree.
By the way, I love your new picture at the top of your page...
Laura's right - that still life at the top of your blog is a stroke of genius!
As already mentioned, brilliant blog header picture!
Please divulge - as a fellow tea lover, what type of tea is it that you've got in your cup pictured?
